PREVENTION THROUGH EDUCATION

Building a generation that cares.

CARE Team helps young people understand what animals need, why responsible care matters, and how their choices can make a difference—for animals and their communities.

WHY CARE BEGAN

Rescue helps animals in crisis. CARE wants to help prevent the crisis.

After years of fostering animals and working in rescue, CARE Team founder Christina Bell saw the same reality again and again: too many animals arrive in shelters and rescues because of circumstances that might have been prevented. That led to a different question: What if we taught responsible animal care before problems begin?

CARE Team grew from the belief that lasting change requires more than responding when an animal is already in need. By helping young people understand animals, recognize their needs, and take responsibility for their care, we can begin addressing some of the conditions that contribute to neglect, abandonment, and overwhelmed shelters.

Caring can be learned—and what children learn today can change how animals are treated tomorrow.

OUR BELIEF

Caring can be learned.

When young people learn to understand what animals need, recognize how their choices affect them, and take responsibility for their care, compassion can become action.

Act

Young people explore age-appropriate concepts about animal needs, behavior, responsible care, and the connection between their choices and animal well-being.

Interactive activities and hands-on experiences help students connect what they learn to real animals, situations, and communities.

Students consider what responsible care looks like, why it matters, and the role they can personally play in improving animals' lives.

Young people are encouraged to turn understanding into responsible choices and meaningful actions at home and in their communities.
